How to complete the Qur'an in Ramadan
Here are some steps on how to complete your goals and complete the Quran by the end of Ramadan.
Although it is not required to read the Quran it is very recommended so we should try our best to do this, so we can better ourselves.
The Messenger (s.a.w) of Allah (s.w.t) said:
"The best of you is he who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."
[Bukhari]
"Read the Qur'an. For verily it will come forth on the Day of Resurrection as an Intercessor for its readers."
[Muslim]
"Fasting and the Qur'an will intercede for the slave on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say: 'O my Rabb I prevented him from food and desires, so accept my intercession for him.' And the Qur'an will say: 'I prevented him from sleep during the night, so accept my intercession for him.' He said: "And they will (be allowed to) intercede."
[Sahih Hadith]

- 1. Intention

First you should establish your intention (niyyah) so you know why you are doing this and you know you are doing it for the right reasons. Once your intention has been established, remember to renew it often. Whilst reciting and even upon completion of the Qur'an, recall your intention and renew it.
You can remember your intentions throughout to keep you motivated.
The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended."
- 2. Educate yourself about the Quran

Learn about the benefits of the Quran and the rewards so you understand why you are reading it.
"Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." -Al Tirmidhi
- 3. Ease into it

You don't want to start off and do much more than you usually do and by mid-Ramadan you burn out. Instead slowly ease into these acts of worship and build yourself up, so you don't get tired and burn out. You could do this by maybe starting before Ramadan so you can get used to it or begin at the back of the Quran (30 juzz) which has shorter and easier surahs.
- 4. Have realistic goals and targets.

This is key otherwise you won't be able to keep track of your progress. So, you should schedule in time for your Quran each day. Also, you could follow this guide...
- An average Quran has approximately 600 pages. If you divide 600 with 30 days then that is 20 pages per day. And now divide 20 with 5 (5 Times of prayers), which becomes 4. And it will be so easy for you to Finish it!
- It means if you pray just 4 pages after every Salah (Prayer). Then you will be able to finish it easily in this holy month.
- And if you want to finish it twice, just start reciting 8 pages after every Salah (Prayer) you offer in this holy Month!
So, by doing roughly a Juzz a day you should complete all thirty by the end of Ramadan inshallah.
- 5. Motivation and discipline

The key to any success is consistency. Once you've mapped your plan, stick to it. Remind yourself of the greatness of this month, of the opportunities that it provides for your spiritual growth and your relationship with the Qur'an. Don't be willing to compromise it in this month.
And remember to keep up good deeds and if you start to slack discipline yourself and remind yourself of your intention and motivation.
- 6. Find Qur'an Buddies and Compete in Good

Find other people who are doing the same thing and help each other, you could also complete- in doing good so you stay motivated.
- 7. Don't give up

Make sure you stay on task and don't give up- even if it is difficult or you struggle to read to Quran. Remember...
Our beloved Prophet (SAW) said: "Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward." (Sahih Al-Bukhari).
Also, even if you start to fall behind still continue on, and if you don't finish the Quran by the end of Ramadan look at the bright side- that you can continue your worship after Ramadan and you will maintain this relationship with your lord.
- 8. Make Dua to Allah

Nothing can be achieved without the aid and guidance of Allah (s.w.t). When making your intention to complete the Qur'an. Supplicate to Allah and ask him to make this easy for you and full of reward.
These are the 8 ways I wanted to share with you on starting and completing your journey through recitation of the Qur'an this Ramadan.
