[printable-Ramadan Checklist]
Goal Ideas:

- Do dhikr each day
"keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah" -Al tirmidhi

- Do sunnahs and nafl
"Allaah will build a house in Heaven for whoever is diligent in observing 12 Sunnah Rak'aat (as follows): 4 Rak'aat before and 2 after the Dhuhr (Midday) Prayer, 2 after the Maghrib (Sunset Prayer), 2 after the Ishaa (Evening) Prayer and 2 before the Fajr (Dawn) Prayer." Hadith sahih narrated by at-Tirmidhi
You can print out this chart

- Give charity
"The best deeds are consistent, even if small" -Sahih
So give charity if you can each day- even in small amounts each day.

- Help someone
Help a family member or friend- be selfless and kind. Find out if your mother needs help in anything..or your brother, grandmother..anyone.
The Prophet [Pbuh] said "Whoever helps his brother in his time of need, Allah will be there in his time of need" -Sahih Muslim

- Read Quran daily
Or if you are going to complete a certain amount of the Quran then for e.g. do 1 juz a day.
"Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." -Al Tirmidhi

- Learn a new dua
Increase your knowledge- "seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim"
Also see my other post with great duas..Link
you can begin with this one: 'Hasbun allah wani'mal wakeel'

- Meditate and contemplate
The Prophet often spent time in meditation on Mount Hira. The Quran tells how one night he was meditating in a cave on the mountain when he was visited by the angel Jibreel.

- Contemplate on an ayah of the Quran
This is the deep reflective thought you can take from the ayah. What do you personally gain from this ayah- what do you learn and take from it. Contemplation is pondering over the Quran.
"Do they not contemplate within themselves?" Quran 30:8
The word for contemplation in Arabic is 'Tadabbur'.
Here is how to contemplate in steps: https://www.islam21c.com/islamic-thought/how-to-make-tadabbur/

- Do Taraweeh
"And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace," "And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]" (25:64)

- Stop a bad habit
This is a chance to get rid of any bad habits you many have..

- Make dua
This is an opportunity to make as much dua as you can and ask Allah for whatever you want- good health, wealth, forgiveness, reward, good character, Jannah...etc
And your Lord said: "Call upon Me, I will answer you." Quran 40:60

- Eat healthily and modestly
Even though you may be fasting in this time, we must remember why- it is to humble us and let us focus on being spiritual. And even though we are fasting, at Iftar don't eat as much as you can, as this is totally contrary to the spirit of Ramadan, through which we're supposed to learn self-control not self-indulgence. Let's try to stick to the Prophetic rule on eating: "fill our stomachs with one-third food, one-third water and one-third breathing space", even in Ramadan.

- Do good for your neighbour
Why not get to know your neighbours or send them something nice- like food or dates.

- Mindfulness to remember to have Allah in your heart over any thing else

- Feed animals near you- birds, cats
"A bad woman saw a dog turning around a well on a hot day; it was panting due to thirst. She took off her shoe, filled it with water and gave the water to the dog. The woman was forgiven due to this deed." [Muslim, Tawba 155, (2245)]
"Whoever is merciful even to a sparrow, Allah will be merciful to him on the Day of Judgment."

- Learn a few of the 99 names.
"Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one. Whoever learns them by heart will enter Paradise."
"Leaning by heart", which is mentioned in the hadeeth, implies the following:
1. Memorising them- and knowing how to pronounce them.
2. Understanding their meaning
3. Acting in accordance with the meanings. So if a person knows that He is One, he does not associate anything else with Him. If he knows that He is the Provider (ar-Razzaaq), he does not seek provision from anyone other than Him. If he knows that He is Most Merciful (ar-Raheem), then he does acts of obedience and worship that are the means of attaining this mercy... and so on.
4. Calling upon Him by these names, as He, may He be glorified and exalted, says: "And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them" [al-A'raaf 7:180].
So you might say: O Most Merciful (Ya Rahmaan), have mercy on me; O Oft-forgiving (Ya Ghafoor), forgive me; O Accepter of repentance (Ya Tawwaab), accept my repentance, and so on...

This also includes the sunnahs of the prophet he did on Fridays. [There are some listed below.]

- Forgive and seek forgiveness
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting with a group of the Companions in the Masjid and he said, "A man will now enter (who is) from the people of Paradise." The man walked in.
Abdullah ibn Amr wanted to find out what was so special about this individual, so he asked the man if he could stay over at his house for three days, making an excuse to stay. The man allowed him to do so.
Observing him carefully in his home, Abdullah noticed that the man didn't do anything out of the ordinary. He didn't fast all the time, he slept some of the night and prayed some of the night, and so on. So after the three days, Abdullah told him the real reason why he requested to stay with him, and he asked him what it was that could be the reason why he was from the people of Jannah.
His host couldn't think of anything, but after some time, he said, "Every night, before I go to sleep, I forgive whoever has wronged me. I remove any bad feelings towards anyone from my heart."
